St John’s Co-Cathedral is making the  last preparations for this Saturday’s late opening during Notte Bianca 2018, in Valletta.

Through your visit, you will see some artefacts which have been recently restored, and those currently undergoing restoration. Start from the Sacristy and see The Coronation of the Virgin Mary, a painting recently hung in its original place, after being expertly restored this year. Look out for our conservator working on a painting representing The Virgin Mary, whilst a marble restorer will be restoring a tombstone in the main nave. The staircase leading to the Grandmasters’ Crypt is also being cleaned. Go up to the balcony and enjoy a birds-eye view of the main nave, and admire up close the many details of the painted ceiling.

Do not forget to visit the Oratory,  housing the two of the great masterpieces by Caravaggio. Make sure to participate in the photo competition by uploading your photos and tagging them #stjohnscocathedral #stjccf.

Six guided tours start every half hour, starting at 19:00 till 21:30Hrs.

St John’s Co-Cathedral will be open from 7pm till midnight, with last admissions till 11.30pm.
